Overview

This 1-day course looks at billing for mobile systems. The mobile world really started with GSM and has evolved through GPRS (General Packet Radio System) to 3G (UMTS). GSM is the world's dominant mobile communications technology; there are hundreds of operators in many countries. One major feature of GSM is that users can roam onto networks in other countries when they leave the coverage area of their home network. When this happens, charges and accounting must move with the user. This course  looks at the whole area of GSM billing, including basic GSM billing, billing whilst roaming and carrier interconnect. This is extended to GPRS and ends by introducing the specific charging architecture for UMTS.

This 1-day course forms part of our 5-day Billing program which offers a comprehensive introduction to the main types of billing systems and services available in modern telecommunications. The other courses in this program are Telecoms Billing Introduction, Interconnect Billing and IP Billing. Each course can be taken individually or as a 5 day program. Delegates booking all 5 days are entitled to a 15% discount on the cost of the program.
