The aim of this course is to offer a system level view of some of the fundamental problems linked to the PSNs field.

The course focuses mainly on those specific enabling technologies that can help the most in the deployment and usage of PSNs on real world scenarios

The integration of the Internet of Things (IoT) in support of Public Safety Networks: dealing with the opportunities and challenges for the requirements and application of IoT to assist with PSN deployments and usage.

We will also discuss the use of social networks in emergency management and the new possibilities social networks may bring to PSNs.

Use of Wearable Wireless Sensor Networks (W-WSN) for emergency response. Mobile backhaul in moving-cell scenarios is also discussed.
