Overview

This 3-day fibre optics course offers an introduction to fibre optics terminology and concepts, plus some basic hands on exposure to fibre. It is accredited by the OCN, regional Open College Network. Successful candidates gain a qualification recognised as a level 2 award under the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) national framework. This award is broadly equivalent to a GCSE pass at grades A-C.

Alternatively this course can be run as a closed company course in two days if certification is not required.

Delegates requiring in-depth Hands On training for the installation, testing and maintenance of Fibre should look at the City and Guilds 3666 Units 2+3 Internal and External Fibre Handling course.
