Overview

This course is designed to be a complete overview of the technologies used for transmission within many telecommunications networks. It looks at PDH, SONET, SDH, WDM and DWDM to provide a complete overview of the networks at their capabilities. As such, this course is ideal for those professionals wanting to appreciate all the different technologies and their relevent strengths and weaknesses. At the end of the course, delegates will be able to: - Understand all the technologies deployed within networks globally - Appreciate the evolution from PDH to SDH and onto WDM - Understand how multiplexing works - Understand the Network Management issues related to these technologies - Appreciate who the major manufacturers are and what they provide
