Overview

The 802.11n standard adds a whole new dimension to Wi-Fi  by boosting raw data rates from the 54 Mbps of 802.11g and 802.11a to a huge 300 Mbps. 600 Mbps will emerge soon. There are 802.11n products available so how should your organisation use it? How do you migrate to it, do you run two standards? These and other questions are addressed.

The new standard has adopted the use of MIMO antennas. This technology is also being used by Mobile WiMAX and LTE so an understanding of this is included.

As well as 802.11n, the IEEE 802.11 committee have been busy with a range of standards, both issued and in progress. This course will summarise these to provide an up to date  view of the whole wireless scene including both issued and work in progress.
