Effective project management skills are becoming increasingly important. Organisations need good project managers, at all levels, to successfully deliver the change projects that will enable the business to adapt, grow and achieve its strategic objectives.
The Project Management Qualification (PMQ) (SCQF Level 7) is a knowledge-based qualification developed by APM, the chartered body for the project profession, that allows candidates to demonstrate understanding of all elements of project management.
Candidates will be able to demonstrate an understanding of how these elements interact and how their project fits into their strategic and commercial environment.
PMQ is an internationally recognised qualification, which can be carried from one job to another, or from one industry to another.
This course will enable delegates to:
- Explain the context of Project Management
- Plan the project Strategy
- Execute project plans and strategy
- Demonstrate the use of various project management techniques
- Define a project Business Case and it’s use throughout the life cycle
- Design a project’s organisation structure and recognise appropriate levels of governance
- Communicate with the project team through effective leadership
- Understand the examination Guidelines
Delegates will be provided with pre-course reading two weeks prior to attending the course. The success on the course will be enhanced by close attention to the pre-reading materials. It is recommended that candidates spend a minimum of 20 hours working through the pre-reading.
