Overview

GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) is a new service designed to operate as an overlay of GSM networks to provide high-speed and low-speed packet mode data transfer in an efficient manner. GPRS optimises the use of network resources and radio resources, and supports volume-based charging, ideal for bursty traffic transmission. This course outlines the major attributes and elements of a GPRS network.
