Course Description:

This course provides delegates with a complete overview of the billing process within Telcos. This course is suitable for delegates with little or no prior experience, but who need to understand the processes and issues faced within end to end billing solutions. Focus will be placed on call processing and mediation, interfaces with legacy systems and OSS (Operational Support Systems). This course also looks at next generation billing systems such as convergence billing, IP billing and others.

At the end of the course, delegates will be able to:

- Understand the whole process of billing
- Understand the issues faced within current Telcos and traditional billing systems
- Understand how a customer is invoiced for a call
- Appreciate new developments in billing to cope with the latest technological advances

This 2-day course forms the first part of our 5-day Billing program which offers a comprehensive introduction to the main types of billing systems and services available in modern telecommunications. The other courses in this program are Interconnect Billing, IP Billing and Billing for GSM, GPRS and 3G Mobile Systems. Each course can be taken individually or as a 5 day program.


Prerequisites:

Delegates should have a good understanding of communications basics. Delegates do not need to have any prior billing experience as this course is designed to provide a definitive overview to the whole billing process.
