Course Description:


This is a 2-day course which starts by introducing students to the main concepts of OSPF. The growth of internetworks has put them beyond the scalability limits of distance vector routing protocols such as RIP and IGRP to the extent that only link state routing protocols such as OSPF and IS-IS will suffice. Link state protocols are more scalable, more reliable, and offer faster convergence. All of these features are becoming essential for the scalable multimedia networks of the future.

 

On this course you will learn how to:


- Describe the structure of the Internet
- Decide which routing protocols to use in each practical circumstance
- Plan the configuration of OSPF
- Divide an OSPF network into areas for efficient routing
- Set-up and Autonomous System
- Interconnect to other autonomous systems and to ISPs with BGP4
- Plan the configuration of BGP4 in your organization
- Administer BGP routing policies
