Course Description:

Citrix® MetaFrame® Presentation Server provides a flexible and robust way to deploy applications and information, allowing organizations to use legacy hardware and software while supporting cutting-edge technologies in the same enterprise environment. The Enterprise Edition is designed for single-point control of server farms, licenses and resources in large organizations, providing system monitoring and analysis, application packaging and delivery and integration with third-party Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) management consoles such as HP® OpenView®, Tivoli® NetView®, and CA Unicenter®.

 

This course provides the necessary foundation to fully utilize the power of MetaFrame Presentation Server. This course covers installation and administration of MetaFrame Presentation Server, Enterprise Edition and its components, including the Web Interface, the Secure Gateway, Resource Manager, Installation Manager, Load Manager, and Network Manager. Learners receive an overview of the Management Console for MetaFrame Presentation Server to configure server farm and individual server settings, the management console for MetaFrame Access Suite to manage multiple farms, and the License Management Console to manage licenses. In addition, this course provides training for managing, implementing and deploying the MetaFrame Presentation Server clients.

Prerequisites:

This course is intended for IT professionals, such as server, network, and system administrators, familiar with Microsoft® Windows® environments. Systems engineers, analysts, consultants, and
architects are also appropriate candidates for this course.

It is recommended that learners have experience administering Microsoft Windows Server™ 2003 environments.

This course includes the following modules:

Upon successful completion of this course, students are able to perform the following:

• Install Citrix® MetaFrame® Presentation Server 3.0 and the MetaFrame Presentation Server clients in a variety of network environments
• Identify the features and functions of the MetaFrame Presentation Server Console
• Configure a MetaFrame Presentation Server farm and individual server settings
• Configure policies for servers, users, and groups using the MetaFrame Presentation Server Console
• Create custom administrators within the MetaFrame Presentation Server console to manage the farm, individual servers, applications or tasks
• Manage and deploy applications in MetaFrame Presentation Server environments
• Manage and monitor MetaFrame Presentation Server
• Configure and manage the Web Interface and the Secure Gateway for MetaFrame Presentation Server
• Manage licenses through the License Management Console
