Change and Configuration Management for Microsoft Windows 2000
Course Duration: 3 Days
Course Description:
This course provides delegates with the knowledge and skills necessary to plan for and configure a user's working environment, including applications, documents, and desktop settings, and then remotely install a configuration to client computers.
At the end of the course, delegates will be able to:
- Explain how change and configuration management features are used to solve common business problems.
- Install and configure a Microsoft® Windows® 2000 Server Remote Installation Services (RIS) server.
- Configure an installation of a CD-based image and deploy it to client computers.
- Create a Remote Installation Preparation (RIPrep) image and deploy it to client computers by using RIS.
- Design and implement a plan for centrally deploying and managing applications by using Group Policy.
- Deploy non-Windows Installer software by repackaging applications into Windows Installer packages or by publishing applications with .zap files.
- Design and implement a plan for using registry-based policies to manage user and computer settings.
- Create custom administrative templates to manage applications and settings.
- Design and implement a plan for managing the needs of mobile and roaming users.
Prerequisites:
Delegates should have completed Windows 2000 for NT Support Professionals, or equivalent knowledge.
