Course Duration: 3 Days

Course Code: PWS011

Course Description:

GSM (Global System for Mobile communications) is a digital cellular communications system. It was developed in order to create a common European mobile telephone standard but it has been rapidly accepted worldwide. GSM has been designed to be compatible with ISDN services. This course gives a broad overview of the GSM system and explains in greater depth how nodes in GSM communicate to provide voice and circuit-switched services.

Prerequisites:

This level of course is designed for delegates who have a technical background and who require a technical introduction to GSM communications. Delegates have probably started, or are likely to come into contact with GSM Systems and need a formal introduction to its applications and capabilities. This course assumes that the delegates already have a grasp of associated technologies and understand voice communications basics. Delegates will be from a technical background such as developers, analysts and engineers. They may also be experienced managers, project leaders or people liasing with technical staff and need to communicate at this level.
