Course Description:

This course is designed for Database Administrators, Systems Administrators and Network Managers who are required to configure the Oracle8i/9i databases in a network environment. By the end of this course, the delegate will have had practical experience in configuring Net Architecture, the Oracle Shared Server and the Listener. Experience of troubleshooting simple network problems will also have been gained. This course covers the main topics for the Oracle8i Database: Network Administration examination (IZ0-026) and the main networking topics for the Oracle9i Database: Fundamentals II examination (IZ0-032).

Prerequisites:

A knowledge of Oracle database architecture and some operating system skills. This can be obtained by attendance on the Pre-Requisite courses in this case DBA Part I - Architecture & Administration (ODA).
