Course Description:


Clinic (CL3): Security Control

 

This clinic provides an overview of security enhancements and Network Access Protection (NAP) for organizations that have deployed Windows Server 2008 with Windows Vista, Windows XP SP2, and Windows Server 2003 R2. Includes 90-minute hands-on lab.

 

Clinic (CL4): Centralized Application Access

 

This clinic provides an overview of the core functions of Terminal Services in Windows Server 2008, including Terminal Services Core Functionality, Terminal Services Gateway, Terminal Services Remote Programs, and Terminal Services and WSRM. Includes 90-minute hands-on lab.

 

These sessions are aimed at IT Professionals currently experienced on the technologies included in Windows Server 2000 and Windows Server 2003, and who hold an MCSE or MCSA certification and/or equivalent knowledge.


Prerequisites:

IT Professionals skilled on the Terminal Services technologies included in Windows Server 2000 and Windows Server 2003.

MCSA: on Windows Server 2003

MCSA: on Microsoft Windows 2000

MCSE: on Windows Server 2003

MCSE: on Microsoft Windows 2000


This course includes the following modules:

Security Enhancements in Windows Server 2008

  • Utilize Group Policy to implement security settings and features
  • Identify the features and technologies in Windows Server 2008 that allow administrators to enforce security policy throughout the enterprise
  • Explain IPSec and how it is implemented
  • Explain policy-based Quality of Service and how it is implemented

Network Access Protection (NAP)

  • Define Network Access Protection
  • Identify scenarios for using NAP
  • Identify network infrastructure components of NAP
  • Identify NAP enforcement methods
  • Identify the NAP settings for health determination and enforcement in NPS

  • Configure NAP components
  • Enforce NAP through IPSec

  • Explain Single Sign-On in the Terminal Services environment

  • Explain how TSG allows remote connection to terminal servers
  • Explain the benefits of TSG
  • Identify requirements/prerequisites for implementing TSG
  • Identify new functionality provided by TSG

Terminal Services Remote Programs

  • Describe the Terminal Services Remote Programs capability
  • Identify the benefits of using Terminal Services Remote Programs
  • Describe the benefits of using Terminal Services Web Access

Terminal Services and Windows System Resource Manager

  • Describe WSRM
  • Identify how WSRM can be used to optimize performance of servers
  • Explain how to configure WSRM for Terminal Services

  • Deploy a TS Gateway Client
