Course Description:


This is a technical course designed for engineers who are experienced in signalling and ISDN. The course starts looking at signalling systems in general, with the wide number of protocols and systems in uses, in particular their interface with SS7 (Signalling System No. 7) and ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network). It looks in details at Signalling System No. 7 (SS7) and its wide deployment within modern telecom network. This course looks in detail at the SS7 protocol stack, the main components of the SS7 network and the Signal Units. The ISDN section looks in details at ISDN at various levels – Data link layer and Physical layer and also at the architecture of the ISDN network.
