Course Description:


This ITIL V3 Foundation Bridging Course gives candidates a fast track route to an ITIL version 3 Foundation certificate level of knowledge. This one-day course provides complementary first-level training and is designed for holders of existing ITIL Foundation Certificates from earlier ITIL versions.

 

The aim of the course is to highlight the new topics in ITIL version 3 and the main differences from earlier ITIL Versions. Learners will gain a strong understanding of the enhancements to ITIL best practice brought about through the version 3 refresh.

 

This course will provide candidates with knowledge and understanding of:

- Service Management as a practice (Awareness)
- Service Lifecycle (Awareness)
- Key Principles and Models (Awareness)
- Generic Concepts (Awareness)
- Selected Processes (Awareness)
- Selected Roles (Awareness)
- Selected Functions (Awareness)
- Technology and Architecture (Awareness)
- ITIL Qualification scheme (Awareness)

 

The main focus of the Bridging course will be the new content of the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) which covers the five core volumes which provide an end-to-end view of IT and its integration with business strategy:

 

- Service Design provides guidance on the design of new or changed services for introduction into the live environment.
- Service Transition provides guidance on managing change along with risk and quality whilst ensuring IT Operations can manage those changes within the context of the ICT Infrastructure.
- Service Operation provides guidance on the day to day management of the ICT Infrastructure. It is also contributes to the Service Management Lifecycle for carrying out those processes which contribute to the optimisation of the services provided.
- Continual Service Improvement looks at the Service Management Lifecycle. It identifies opportunities for improvements in the efficiency, effectiveness of the processes and optimisation of the costs associated with service provision.

Who should attend

 

This course is aimed at existing holders of the ITIL Foundation Certificate from earlier ITIL versions who want to quickly gain a good overview of the new content of ITIL version 3 and achieve the ITIL Foundation Bridging Certificate in IT Service Management.

 

Exams

 

The ITIL V3 Bridging Course prepares delegate for the Foundation Bridging Certificate in IT Service Management examination. The examination is a 30-minute multiple choice paper (20 questions), taken at the end of the course. Delegates must achieve a pass rate of 65%.


Prerequisites:

Possession of ITIL(R) Foundation Certificates in IT Service Management from earlier ITIL versions.

Attendees on this course must provide a copy of the appropriate ITIL Version 2 certificates, or if these are not available their certificate number. This information must be brought to the training course.

On attending the course please ensure you provide documented evidence that you have passed the ITIL(r) Version 2 Foundation Certificate, by either presenting your certificate (or a copy of your certificate ) to the course lecturer. If you cannot provide the physical certificate, then as a minimum you must provide the certificate number. if the exam board was not ISEB, you must also provide the name of the examination board who issued the certificate . Failure to this will result in you exam results being withheld by the exam accreditation body until proof of V2 Foundation accreditation has been provided. If you have lost your certificate or you do not have a record of your certificate number please contact ISEB directly before attending the course.
