Course Description:


The two day Microsoft DynamicsT GP Integration Manager course develops your understanding of how to integrate outside systems with your Microsoft Dynamics GP accounting application through the use of tools designed to safely and easily import records. You will find value in using Integration Manager for safely converting data into a new Microsoft Dynamics GP installation, or as an ongoing way to integrate data from your external business databases, e-commerce solutions and desktop applications with Microsoft Dynamics GP. In addition to Integration Manager, information will be provided on Table Import. Table Import enables you to quickly transfer data from other sources into Microsoft Dynamics GP, regardless of module, table, operating system or database.

 

Microsoft Dynamics GP Integration Manager training is recommended for people who plan to install, implement, configure, consult, or support the tools used to integrate data with Microsoft Dynamics GP. This class is targeted towards individuals that desire to increase their knowledge and the skills necessary to create automated integrations between Microsoft Dynamics GP and existing outside data sources.


Prerequisites:

Before attending this course, students must have:

- General knowledge of Microsoft Windows.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP

This course includes the following modules:

Microsoft Dynamics GP Tools Overview

  • The purpose of this chapter is to give students a general overview of the tools available to integrate data into Microsoft Dynamics GP.

Import Utility

  • This chapter focuses on Import Utility. We will examine the features and benefits of using Import Utility to import data into Microsoft Dynamics GP. We will review the basic steps in creating a table import. There is also a section on resources that can be used to determine what information needs to be imported and how to determine field structures. We will then define and perform an import.

Integration Manager Overview

  • The purpose of this chapter is to identify the features and benefits of Integration Manager. We will go over the Integration Manager installation as well.

Great Plains Standard Adapter

  • In this chapter we will discuss the most commonly used destination adapter in Integration Manager: the Great Plains Standard Adapter. We will define the steps in creating a basic integration. The available destinations will be listed as well.

Advanced Integration Topics

  • In this chapter we will discuss advanced integration topics. We will discuss different options that allow you to further customize and enhance the integration to work with the source data.

SQL Optimized Adapter

  • This chapter focuses on introducing students to the SQL Optimized Adapter. Unlike the Great Plains Standard Adapter, the SQL Optimized Adapter integrates at the table level, with full data validation.
