Microsoft Technology: A Detailed Overview
View course dates
Course Duration: 3 days
Course Code: CSMS1
Course Description:
Microsoft offers a rapidly expanding range of products to build complete, cost-effective, business solutions. As a result, an increasing number of companies are selecting an IT strategy based around Microsoft's technology: operating systems, desktop applications, server services, component technology and development tools. These companies see potential long-term benefits in using an integrated set of products from a single supplier that reduces the time spent building 'infrastructure', allowing them to focus on business solutions.
This course provides an unbiased overview of this 'Microsoft-centric' approach: its strengths and weaknesses.
Where appropriate, the systems and services discussed will be used or demonstrated. Discussion will be encouraged, focusing on the new business opportunities that the technology offers. This is not a 'hands-on' course.
Prerequisites:
System architects, designers, analyst, developers, support managers and staff, programme and project managers, those with technical sales/pre-sales responsibilities or anyone wanting to understand the 'big picture' of Microsoft technology. This seminar is not intended for anyone who needs an in-depth understanding of specific Microsoft products
A reasonable level of IT knowledge, including the use of Windows and LANs, is assumed.
