Course Description:


IT Service Management is about promoting professional, efficient and effective support & delivery of IT Services that meet agreed service levels and costs on an ongoing basis.


Ever-changing business requirements, heightened organisational reliance on IT and the increasing complexity of IT systems coupled with on-going management pressure to reduce costs provides an increasingly challenging environment for today's IT staff.


All these factors have caused most leading organisations to carefully examine how they implement, support and deliver IT Services.


This course provides an introduction to some of the key themes of best practice IT Service Management based on the public ITIL®(IT Infrastructure Library®) guidance.

The course consists of short informal presentations on each area. Participation is encouraged and practical examples are used to illustrate the content. The focus is on providing an enjoyable but informative event that provides impetus for implementing Service improvements in the delegate's organisation.


Prerequisites:

IT Operational Managers who may be looking to make Service Improvements but are unsure where to focus their efforts

Staff working in an IT service management discipline who wish to broaden their understanding of how their role fits into a wider service management framework

Other staff whose effectiveness would be enhanced by a greater awareness and understanding of best practices in IT service management.

Delegates should have some appreciation of the building blocks of IT services.
