Course Description:

With the .NET platform, Microsoft is redefining application development for both the Windows and web environments. This emerging technology is having a dramatic impact on how applications are developed and deployed, with unprecedented levels of flexibility, scalability and interoperability. Using one of a host of different development languages, components and applications can be developed to run in the managed environment of the common .NET runtime.

Examining both the why and the how of .NET, it will enable you to assess the opportunities associated with this exciting technology.

This intensive one day seminar will introduce you to .NET, the underlying .NET framework, and the three core areas of application development: Web Services; Web Forms, using ASP.NET for systems targeted at the web; Windows Forms, for rich GUI applications

The new C# and Visual Basic.NET languages will be introduced during a series of demonstrations using Visual Studio.NET that will introduce the power and versatility of this new comprehensive development environment.

The seminar consists of a sequence of informative lectures, combined with demonstrations of the development technologies and techniques using Microsoft Visual Studio.NET.

Prerequisites:

Anyone who is involved in the specification, design and development of products and solutions for either the web or Microsoft Windows, and who wants to gain an insight into Microsoft .NET.

Delegates should be technical professionals. Knowledge of existing Microsoft technologies would be an advantage.
