Course Description:

The goal of this course is to provide the student with the skills to select the appropriate implementation of business solutions that require fault tolerance and high availability.

 

(PLEASE NOTE: Microsoft has not updated the M2087 (clustering windows 2000) manual for windows 2003. Therefore the course uses the clustering 2000 manual with weblinks provided by the instructor for the new/updated cluster 2003 features.)

 

At the end of the course, delegates will be able to:

 

- Introduce Microsoft® Windows® 2003 Clustering
- Identify key concepts of Microsoft Cluster Service.
- Identify hardware and network requirements and configure a computer running Microsoft Windows 2003 -- Advanced Server in preparation for installing Cluster service.
- Configure Microsoft Cluster Service, identify changes to the operating system, and locate key Cluster service files and describe their function.
- Create cluster resources by using cluster administration tools.
- Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting and disaster recovery tasks for server clusters.
- Clustering Sql2000 and Exchange 2003
